Abstract

Local cultural values play an important role in shaping identity and character through education, particularly in art education. One of the cultural heritages of the Bima community is Nggusu Waru, a traditional leadership concept consisting of eight core values that reflect religious, moral, intellectual, and social principles. However, these values have not been optimally integrated into formal art education. This study aims to examine the values of Nggusu Waru in art education as a representation of Bima community identity. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using library research. Data were collected through documentation of books, academic articles, and relevant cultural texts, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and interpretative conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Nggusu Waru contains multidimensional values that can be contextualized as learning resources in art education, integrating aesthetic, ethical, and cultural dimensions. The incorporation of Nggusu Waru into art education contributes to strengthening local cultural identity, fostering creativity, and supporting character education through meaningful aesthetic experiences. Therefore, Nggusu Waru has significant potential to serve as a cultural foundation for art education that is rooted in local wisdom while remaining relevant in contemporary educational contexts.
