Policy distinction: This section explains how readers obtain access to published articles. The following sections describe the journal's open-access principles and the conditions governing reuse, copyright, and repository deposits.

Open Access Policy

Jompa Abdi: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is a fully open-access journal. Its open-access model combines the reader access conditions described above with clearly stated permissions for reuse under an open license.

Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and otherwise use published articles in accordance with the license applicable to each article and any separately identified third-party rights.

The journal supports access to scholarly knowledge for research, education, community service, professional practice, policymaking, and other lawful purposes.

Open Access Principles

The journal's open-access approach promotes the dissemination, discoverability, accessibility, and responsible reuse of scholarly research.

Open access does not remove the obligation to acknowledge authors and original sources. Users must comply with the applicable license, indicate changes where required, and respect any rights that fall outside the scope of the license.

Free reader access, reuse permissions, and long-term digital preservation address different aspects of scholarly communication. Electronic archiving and preservation arrangements are described separately in the journal's relevant policies.

Budapest Open Access Initiative

The journal supports the broad dissemination of scholarly literature through the public internet, reflecting the open-access objectives expressed in the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Readers may consult the official BOAI declaration and subsequent recommendations for further information. The specific reuse permissions applicable to articles published in Jompa Abdi are governed by the license displayed on each article, as explained below.

License and Reuse

Articles published under the journal's current licensing policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), unless otherwise indicated. For previously published articles, users should consult the license displayed on the individual article.

This license permits sharing and adaptation, including for commercial purposes, subject to the following conditions:

  • Attribution: Give appropriate credit to the original author, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.

  • ShareAlike: Distribute adaptations under CC BY-SA 4.0 or a license permitted under its compatibility provisions.

  • No Additional Restrictions: Do not impose legal terms or technological measures that restrict the rights granted by the license.

Attribution must not imply endorsement by the authors or publisher. Separately identified third-party material may be subject to different permissions. Other applicable rights, including privacy and publicity rights, may also need to be considered.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their published work. They grant the journal the right of first publication and the publishing authorization described in the journal's copyright policy.

Open licensing provides reuse permissions without transferring copyright ownership to readers or the journal.

For detailed provisions concerning copyright ownership, authors' publishing rights, and third-party material, readers should consult the journal's copyright policy.

Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit submitted manuscripts, accepted manuscripts, and the final published Version of Record in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, and other appropriate open-access repositories without a journal-imposed embargo.

Deposited copies should clearly identify the manuscript version. Once an article has been published, authors are encouraged to include the full citation, DOI, and a link to the journal's Version of Record, where available.

Deposits must respect separately identified third-party rights.

Permission for author self-archiving does not, by itself, confirm that the journal's content is deposited in an independent long-term digital preservation service.

Access and Open Access Commitment

Jompa Abdi: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat provides immediate, free access to its published scholarly content and supports the responsible reuse of published works under clearly stated licensing terms.
